Antonio Gil Luna

Scholarship winner Antonio Gil Luna

From dismantling the house phone at age 5 to attending an automotive technician program in his recent years, you are guaranteed to always find Antonio tinkering with things to figure out how they work. Antonio grew up in El Salvador and moved to California at age 14, where he attended high school before going to college at UC Riverside, and later UC Berkeley for engineering. Since arriving in Los Angeles and eventually moving to the Bay Area, Antonio has always made an effort to move his family and LatinX community forward by achieving academic excellence, providing mentorship, and encouraging others from his community to pursue a career in tech. When it’s time to relax, Antonio prefers to spend time with his loved ones, taking care of his dogs, going on road trips, traveling internationally, and trying the best local foods while avoiding hiking trails.

Awuradjoa Quansah

Scholarship winner Awuradjoa Quansah

Awuradjoa is a first-generation Ghanaian-American born and raised in Chino Hills, CA. Upon graduation from the University of Southern California, she took a job in accounting in Nashville, Tennessee before relocating to the San Francisco area to take a job at Walmart.com, working in category management. Awuradjoa is looking forward to working as a Full Stack Developer upon graduation and eventually finding ways to combine her category management and software development experience. In her free time, you can catch her in a dance studio honing her dancing skills or exploring new locales throughout California. She is excited to launch her new career in software engineering with the support of Hack Reactor and Galvanize.

Violetta Ryabtsev

Graduate Violetta Ryabtsev

Violetta was born in a Muslim republic in Russia. She worked as a political journalist and moved to USA, when she was 20 years old. She is so excited to finally start to learn how to be a software engineer and build a career. Violetta would like to help the next generation of young women, whether in Russia or in the U.S., to transcend the limitations imposed upon them by societies that far too often stifle their educational and professional opportunities.
